The green was first placed over the burn in 1947 and has been replaced and redefined in the last few years. It can be a relief to leave the last hole behind for this secluded par 3 hole. Club selection is important remembering that from the tee the burn runs immediately in front of the green and is not visible. The hole is named after Lord Beeching the railways ‘axe’ man as the railway runs along the right hand side of the hole.
