Club Championship 2008

Jonny McLeish won the Club Championship for the first time on Saturday 28 June beating Craig Robertson at the second extra hole after a terrific final played by two friends in an excellent spirit. After the morning round Jonny was 5 down and when Craig went 6 up with his first of 3 two's for the round at the 19th hole it looked odds - on an early finish but Jonny dug in and with the help of 3 birdies eventually squared the match at the 29th hole. Craig went ahead again with a 2 at the 31st hole and went two up at the 34th before Jonny finished par,eagle to send the match to sudden death. Both players had chances to finish the match at each of the extra holes before Jonny sunk his putt from 5 feet on the 38th to lead for the first time in the match and win the title. Congratulations to the winner but every sympathy to Craig for a great effort. His turn surely will come in future years.

The Past Captain’s annual reunion took place at the club on Friday 13th June.

Ladies Past Captains and Secretaries Reunion - Friday 16th May

The Ladies Past Captains and Secretaries Reunion took place on Friday, 16th May, 2008.
10 holes of golf, in glorious sunshine, were followed by an excellent dinner in the Clubhouse.
The Sanderson Rosebowl (Past Captains) was won by Maureen Mitchell. The Chris Lowe Salver (Committee) was won by Alison Forrest. These were presented by Ladies Captain Sandra Kerr.
