Welcome to the official web site of the Fleming Watson Junior Golf League. The league comprises of 10 teams all from local clubs who are Cathcart Castle, Cathkin Braes, Cowglen, East Renfrewshire, Eastwood, Fereneze, Haggs Castle, Pollok, Whitecraigs and Williamwood. The teams compete annually for various trophies, the most prestigious being the Fleming Watson trophy which is presented to the league winners.

League update

Congratulations to
Cowglen Golf Club
who are this year’s champions of the Fleming Watson League. Having posted a total of 28 points after their final match, they watched nearest rivals Cathkin Braes fail to win their last match at Eastwood to finish in second place. It’s been an excellent campaign for the boys from Cowglen, emulating their senior team who won last year’s Brand Putter League. It’s also been a long wait to bring the title back to Cowglen, their last win being back in 1990. Cathcart Castle finished in third place tying Cathkin on points, with Williamwood in fourth place on the same points total. The wooden spoon is awarded to Fereneze who now enter a period of coaching in readiness for next year’s league. It’s been a great league campaign this year and there is more golf to come with the individual and team competitions. Thanks to all the Junior Convenors who sent us match reports during the league matches, please keep us updated on your team news as the season continues.

Tom Kelly Trophy update

Cathcart Castle Golf Club
are this year’s winners of the Tom Kelly Trophy. But they had to do it the hard way. After being 3 down to Cowglen after 3 in the semi-final they were 2 up at the 17th. The match went on to the 21st hole where they finally settled the match. In the final they faced Cathkin Braes who had a free passage against East Renfrewshire in their semi-final. They were never behind in this match, but it also went to into extra time, with Cathcart winning this tight final on the 19th hole. So it’s congratulations to the boys from Cathcart who have had a great season capped with this fine win. Check out all the results here >> fixtures
