Cathcart Castle Golf Club

Welcome to the website of Cathcart Castle Golf Club in Glasgow. The club was established in 1895 and is one of the oldest in the area. We are a friendly club located conveniently on the south side of the City of Glasgow on the Mearns Road, approx 1 mile from Clarkston Toll on the A727. To get directions to the club click for interactive map. The James Braid designed golf course is played over undulating parkland and offers a challenge to all levels of golfers. The course is surrounded by picturesque and panoramic views of the City of Glasgow, and you can also enjoy the fine views towards the North West and Loch Lomond.

Cathcart Castle is a great place to hold your society annual outing or corporate event and you will be made most welcome all year round. We can offer visiting parties tee time availability both during the week and at weekends. Clubhouse facilities include a private dining room and spacious lounge. Parlane McFarlane

The Parlane McFarlane Open scratch tournament sponsored by Wylie Bisset Chartered Accountants will be held on Sunday 26th May. The total prize fund is £800. The competition is open to amateurs with a handicap of limit of 6 and under. Selected tee times are available. The entry fee is £15 per player. To download an entry form click here. Gents Seniors Open

The Gents Seniors Open competition will be held on Tuesday 11th June. Overall winners prize is £100, runner up prize £60. Age limit is 55 and over on the day. Prizes will also be awarded in three separate groups by age and handicap. Entries close on 30th April. For more information and an entry form click here

Ladies Tri-Am Open

The Ladies Open Tri-Am competition will be held on Wednesday 10th July. The competition is open to golfers holding a current L.G.U handicap. Starting times are available from 8.30am to 2.30pm. Open Mixed

The Open amateur Mixed Foursomes competition will be held on Sunday 7th July. Scratch and handicap prizes will be awarded. The event is limited to 130 couples. Entry fee is £14 per couple. For more information and an entry form click here

Senior Open Mixed

The Senior Mixed Open competition will be held on Thursday 16th May. There are two categories - 55-64 and 65 and over. The entry fee is £14.00 per couple. Preferred tee times are available from 9.30am. If you would like to enter please download your competition entry form here

East Renfrewshire Cup

The East Renfrewshire Challenge Cup and Team Trophy competition will be held on Sunday 18th August. Starting times are available from 8.00 to 1.00pm. Handicap limit is 7 to 16 inclusive. The entry fee is £10 per player which will include sweep and spot prizes. Entries close on 10th August. To download your entry form click here

We are members of the Association of James Braid Courses. There are now over 200 member clubs. If you are a member of an associate club, you are welcome to play at Cathcart Castle. Tee times should be booked in advance by contacting the Secretary. Please be ready to produce your home club membership card.
